UNK offers students and the campus community a comprehensive selection of apparel, merchandise, and course materials through the Loper Spirit Shop and its online bookstore.

Loper Spirit Shop

Located at 1013 W. 27th Street within the Nebraskan Student Union, the Loper Spirit Shop provides a wide array of UNK-branded clothing, accessories, and gifts. The store features national brands such as Under Armour, Champion, Antigua, University Girl, and League-Legacy, as well as products from local vendors. In December 2022, the Loper Spirit Shop expanded its reach by launching an online store, allowing customers worldwide to purchase UNK merchandise.

UNK Online Bookstore

In July 2022, UNK transitioned to an online bookstore model to enhance access to affordable textbooks and course materials. Through the UNK Online Bookstore, students can view a personalized list of required and optional course materials based on their course schedule. The platform offers options to buy or rent new, used, and digital textbooks, as well as access to a marketplace for additional savings. You can access the online bookstore here.

The online bookstore is also integrated with your MyBLUE account. You can charge up to $500 worth of textbooks to your MyBLUE account by selecting this option in the payment methods section of your purchase. By charging your textbooks to your student account, your financial aid awards can also apply to your textbook purchases.

On average, textbooks cost approximately $100 per course. To help reduce expenses, UNK's Open Nebraska program supports faculty in adopting free or reduced-cost digital course materials. You can search for an Open Nebraska course when you register for classes. This means the course will include no-cost or low-cost materials. You can view OER courses by going to MyBlue > UNK Class Search > scroll to bottom and select options in Open Nebraska. Students who are taking a full course load can save up to $500 per semester by choosing ONE courses. That's a potential savings of $4,000 over the course of the academic career.
